Buy your one-time purchase license, receive a 25-character product key and instructions by email once payment is confirmed, confirm your system requirements, install the apps from Microsoft's own installer, then sign in with a Microsoft account to activate. There is no ongoing subscription and no separate download link on this site: every step after purchase happens directly through Microsoft's official channels using the key you receive.

Step 1: Buy your license on the checkout page

Start on our secure checkout page, where you enter your first name, last name, country, phone number, and email address. Submitting the form takes you to a separate, secure payment page operated by our payment provider to complete the transaction; office-2024.com never stores your payment details. Before you buy, you can also check how Office 2024 Professional Plus compares to Microsoft 365 and Office 2021 if you are still deciding on the right edition.

Step 2: Receive your product key and instructions by email

Once payment is confirmed, your 25-character product key (in the format XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX) and activation instructions are sent to the email address you provided at checkout. We don't publish a fixed delivery time for this site, so treat the confirmation email as the starting point rather than assuming a specific number of minutes. If you don't see it, check your spam folder before contacting our support team.

Step 3: Confirm your system requirements before you install

Professional Plus runs on Windows 11, Windows 11 LTSC 2024, Windows 10 LTSC 2021, Windows 10 LTSC 2019, Windows Server 2022, or Windows Server 2025. Hardware-wise, you need at least a 1.1 GHz dual-core processor, 4 GB of RAM, 4 GB of free disk space, and a display resolution of at least 1280×768; a 64-bit installation is required if you're running a 4K or higher display. This edition is Windows-only: there is no macOS installer for Professional Plus, and an internet connection is required for both installation and activation. Checking this list before you install saves a redo later if your device doesn't meet one of these minimums.

Step 4: Install Microsoft Office 2024 Professional Plus

With your product key in hand, go to office.com/setup and sign in with the Microsoft account you want the license attached to. Redeeming the key there starts the installer for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, OneNote, and Access (Skype for Business is offered as an optional install during setup).

Step 5: Activate with your Microsoft account

Activation happens automatically once the apps are installed and you're signed in: open any app (Word, for example) and follow the sign-in prompt if it appears. After the license is attached to that account, you can reinstall the same apps later without re-entering the product key, as long as you sign in with the same account each time.

If you're upgrading from an old version of Office

If you're moving from Office 2021 to this current version, compatible versions and feature requirements barely change: this release and Office LTSC 2021 share the same version of Office numbering (16.0), so group policies and add-ins built for that old version keep working, with no need to create a new account or sign in to Microsoft account again if you already have one. Two feature updates are new in this version: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint can open documents in OpenDocument (ODF) 1.4 format by default, and ActiveX controls are disabled by default, though you can reactivate them where needed. This one-time purchase gives you security updates only, not the continuous new features of a Microsoft 365 subscription, so the app set you install is the one you keep; Microsoft Publisher isn't part of this lineup at all, and its support period ends after October 2026. None of this changes the installation process above; it only affects what you notice once you're using the latest version day to day.

Which edition are you installing?

This guide covers Professional Plus, the office suite sold on office-2024.com as a one-time purchase rather than a Microsoft 365 subscription. Microsoft's own consumer editions of these office apps are a different product: Microsoft Office Home 2024 includes Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and OneNote for home or school use, and Office Home & Business 2024 adds Outlook plus commercial-use rights; both are meant for one PC or Mac, unlike the key used to redeem this Professional Plus license. If you're on a Mac OS device, Access isn't available in any edition, and there is no Professional Plus for Mac: the closest equivalent among Microsoft's classic Office apps is Office LTSC Standard for Mac 2024. Redeeming your key on a new device later, or signing in from multiple devices with the same account, doesn't require a new account each time: the license simply reattaches to the Microsoft account you already used. What if something goes wrong

If your product key doesn't redeem, double-check that you're signing in with the Microsoft account you intended to use for this license, since a key can only be tied to one account. If installation or activation still fails after that, contact our support team with your order details. Your purchase is also covered by a 14-day money-back guarantee if the license genuinely can't be activated.
